Why I'm here

Hello there, I'm Jamie and I've been a gamer all my life. From video games, to board games, to card games to pen & paper RPGs, I've spent a whole lot of time sitting around having fun.

I've seen Poker rise to become a sport. Apparently. I've seen countless games of Monopoly end in sulking or flipped tables.
I've solved murders in Clue, sunk Battleships and Connected-4. I've Guessed Who, yelled "Uno" and spent entire nights on a game of Risk.

But what about the other stuff? Well that, my friends, is where Board of Dice comes in.

Partly inspired by Geek & Sundry and Wil Wheaton's TableTop, in this blog I'll be talking about different games, or interesting aspects of games, you may not have even heard of before.

Ever heard of D&D's Beholder or Owlbear monsters? Or what kind of game you can play with a group of friends in less than 10 minutes?

Stay tuned and you just may find out. Table top gaming has been making a massive comeback in recent years, and the number of new games out there is staggering. But with my help, you may just find something that you enjoy.
Welcome to Board of Dice.

  1. Jamie, your topic is amazing! Btw I've discovered in Canada "Cards against humanity", probably I'll have a chance to read here your thoughts about this game too:)

    1. Yes! I've got that game at home and plan to do something with it. Maybe my favourite card combinations?

  2. Oh board games great topic! I have fond memories of my competitive side coming out and conquering my way to the top in Monopoly...oh wait...that was yesterday. To this day I love board games and would love to hear about some new ones that I can kick everyone's butts at!
    I'm just kidding...maybe.

    1. I have a big competitive side, too, so it's always great to find new ways of taking out my friends and family. Hopefully some catch your eye!

  3. Board games can be so much fun. I fondly remember my six year-old son crying hysterically during the Game of Life because 1) he had to get married and 2) he had to pay taxes. Bwah ha ha. Yes, so much fun to be had. Looking forward to your reviews of games new and old.

    1. I don't blame your son. I'm still scared of adulting.

Thanks for checking the blog out, I hope I'm able to introduce you to interesting new games.
